Stay at Home<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Government has asked everyone to stay at home. This means even people who may not be at a high risk should only leave the house for limited reasons. These measures are to help prevent the spread of the deadly virus and protect the most vulnerable.<\/p>\n

To help stop the spread of novel corona virus and safeguard the health of those at higher risk, all need to stay at home, only leaving for limited reasons and not at all if in a high risk group. This is to reduce close contact with other people and help slow the spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Being asked to stay at home and stop having close contact with family and friends probably sounds difficult. You might be feeling worried, scared, sad or even a bit angry. That\u2019s normal, but it\u2019s important to know you\u2019re not alone.<\/p>\n

Social distancing<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

This means people who are not at very high risk should only leave the house for limited purposes. These are:<\/p>\n

1. Shopping for\u00a0basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible and online delivery used wherever available.<\/li>\n
2. Any medical need or to provide care and essential support to a vulnerable person.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

   The Government has made clear that these reasons are exceptions and you should not otherwise leave your home. For these activities you should continue to observe the advice to remain at least 2 meters apart from others (excluding members of your own household) and minimize time outside.<\/p>\n

   Over the coming weeks and months all of us will be spending a lot more time at home and apart from our family and friends. This will inevitably mean big changes to our normal activities and routines. As a result, looking after our mental and physical health is going to be very important.<\/p>\n

     Stay safe<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

     Lots of people are offering to help and support to anyone in their communities who are staying at home. Although the majority of people offering help are genuine and do so for good reasons, sadly, there may be some who try to take advantage of this situation for their own gains.<\/p>\n

     If someone you don’t know offers you help, try to find out more about them. You don’t need to accept an offer from someone who turns up on your doorstep. Ask where they live and how you can contact them before you decide you need help.<\/p>\n

     • Don’t feel pressured to accept help from a stranger.<\/li>\n
     • Don’t hand over money to someone you don\u2019t know who is offering to help you. Offers of help for most things should be free of charge.<\/li>\n
     • If someone offers to do your shopping, ask for a receipt so you can pay them to cover the cost of the items.<\/li>\n
